Thank you

You guys are such a great help. It is so nice to have a forum like this.

Okay so I think I will stay away from the 6.4 L

Anybody wants to chime in about their experiences with Chevrolet 2500 HD?

Size: 58.1 KBDon't be afraid of the 6.4 Great motor once you un choke it. First thing you need to do is take all the EGR and DEF crap off it. Put a decent exhuast and chip it. It will pull like a 6.7 and get good fuel economy. Really, it will make a huge difference in how the motor runs.

I have a 6.7 F350 Single rear wheel short bed and I absolutely love it. I sold my 04.5 Dodge that I loved and this new Ford is way above my Dodge. I get 19.5 mpg and it tows our 12K horse trailer great. So much power and it rides great.

I have a 2009 with twin turbo's. It pulls my X45 like a dream. Rides pretty good too as it has the newer suspension. The only negative is the mileage (11.5mpg).

I tow between 12,000 and 18,000 lbs including trailer weight with my 05 F350 6.0 liter Diesel and haven't had any problems with it so far. I just did replace the alternator in it because it spends a lot time idling but that's it. It now has 70,000 miles and I put a chip on it at 20k which really woke up the truck. These trucks will tow anything you hitch it up to. And like another member said, Ford's are built without a cent of American tax dollars!

My '08 F350 6.4 hit 41,000 today- it's towed a lot of very heavy loads (32,000+ at times) and has been absolutely trouble free. Got rid of the DPF and Cat, and will get 22 mpg empty if I drive it right. Most comfortable and quietest truck I have ever driven.

'05 F250 6.0 is my everyday driver. That truck will pull a house off the foundation. 6.4 L is a nice engine but is severely restricted. Put a Banks Six-Gun on it and open up the exhaust and you'll get about 21 on the highway. Anything newer than '05 and you should be fine. My 05 pulls the same as a 2010 Duramax but I have been told I "have a good one".

06 f250 with 130k! I've done the gaskets and studs. In the summer i tow daily, in the winter it plows snow and carries 4,000 pounds of salt.

EGR? DEF? Is that all the particulate air filter crap that comes on?

I was with my buddy this weekend and we pulled around this 24 foot supra with a 3/4 ton d-max and I forgot it was back there a few times. I LOVE those new chevy trucks.

Note I am extreamly bias toward GM

Got The F-250-love It

I went with the F-250 4x4 King Ranch 6.7 L diesel. I have about 460 miles on it right now and absolutely love the truck. The truck is an absolute beast. Towing the prostar is a joke, and towing the x-star is actually enjoyable now. I can't even feel the boat. At one point, I literally thought I left it at the ramp. Not to mention, the interior is like a freakin Mercedes. I am very happy with the truck and I pray to god that I do not have problems with it.

I am using linseed oil to keep the saddle leather seats in good condition.
Does anyone have any other tips about using this truck that are good to know? Any upgrades that are truly worth it?

Thanks for all of the help y'all.
