Which wakeboard to buy...
Right now i have a 2004 cwb absolute platinum 134 and something about its just not doin it for me. I think i outgrew it or something as ive gained probably like 40 lbs since i got it. I want a really aggressive board with a lot of pop and im really leaning towards buying the new ronix ibex 139. does anyone own the ibex that can tell me how they like it?

I would look at the CWB Pure in a 138. Board has great pop and a spine for landing.

I rode an Ibex a couple of years ago, and it just wasn't for me. If I landed with too much weight on my front foot it just wanted to stop. Great pop though. Anywhere you can try before you buy?

No theres not... I just went ahead and ordered the hyperlite murray bio i feel like that a safe bet for a great board. From what i'm seeing on reviews and discussions ronix boards are really hit or miss so i decided to wing it since hyperlites have such a great rep. I'm hoping to have the board by this weekend to use and i really don't want to go through a big process of returning a bunch of boards till i find the absolute perfect one so hopefully this works out.

I use a 137 Slingshot Response. It took some getting used to but it rides great.

What is your opinion of a flex board behind the boat? I never ride cable but I'm considering getting a SS. Some say that a flex board doesn't pop as well as a traditional board does, while others swear by them and say it just taking some adjustments. Is it still as fast as a non-flex or does the flex slow you down on a hard cut? Sorry for the treadjack, let us know how the new board rides! |
