I was truly amazed how well it fit. I think I had to drill two new holes, but most of the bolts fit the existing holes. I was happy to find a Taylor windshield. Certainly nice to open up the center section when it gets hot.

No kidding, with the round sides and everything. It is really cool. Do you know if a round windshield would fit on a later boat? Have you ever seen a swap done? I think my 85 would look good with a round windshield.

Certainly the rounded windshield is a classic look. I'm not sure, but I think the dimensions aren't very similar significantly. Cost of a new windshield made to OE MC spec is the prohibitive factor.

I'm a little embarressed after seeing the boats on this thread, but it is what it is. The guy I bought it from painted it to match his Blazer. Why why why? It's a '76 with a 302, I think the gray is factory, under the black and cheap pinstripes I think is red. Haven't scratched around much on it. It was about 10 degrees the day I bought it12/28/10, snapped the pics and hid it from my wife in the back of the shop. It was originally advertised for $2,500.00 I bought it for $1,500.00. By the way that is how I found Team Talk. It has the crinkle deck, never saw one before.

Congrats. Sounds like you got a heck of a deal on a cool boat. Got any pics of the engine and interior?

302 was the base engine for years. Lots of boats were built with the 351, but there were other engines too. Seems they were installing whatever they could get in the early days.

Musk, No reason to be embarressed. You have a "classic". Our boats are the foundation of Mastercrafts success. Honestly, it's not a bad looking boat. Just do what you can with the budget you have and we will try to help you along the way. I have learned so much about my S&S thru the forum and met a lot of cool people.
