1983 S&S retoration progress....

Well this weekend I decided to dive into the boat and make some progress. My list for the winter includes stripping the carpet, cleaning up the bilge, detailing the engine, making any repairs and replacing everything there after. Here is the progress so far I am pleased with what a few hours did.

Bye Bye hideous carpet...

She was smiling today I think.

Overall I havent really had to do anything but remove, bag and tag and get busy cleaning with good old elbow grease and some common sense. The carpet came out in perfect pieces so it will be a snap to put back new stuff cut to fit which is nice. The floors look great no problems that I have seen so we are good!

Stay tuned!

Nice work. It's very satisfying to bring those boats back! What is the metalwork in the second picture? (a lifting ring set-up?)

Looking great 03! Can't wait to get my bilge looking squeaky clean like that. Has to wait for spring to make my list.

Thanks guys...

The metal piece is how the lifting ring in the rear is attached to the hull/rails.

Also the perfect time to put in a dual battery setup if you think you'll ever wish that you had. Lest we forget the new steering cable.

Interesting. Definitely not original. I guess the previous owner had that fabricated.

Hey 03, doesn't that darn lifting ring plate get in the way all the time. I'm thinking I would take it out if it were on my boat. Seems like a great place to skin a knee or something more sensitive.
