I have towed my 45 with the 6.2L and the Duramax. I was surprised how well the 6.2 and six speed tranny did through the mountains. The Duramax on the other hand......hardly know it's there.
![]() I certainly like the long wheelbase of the CC LB Duramax for towing the boat over the shorter wheelbase of the Yukon XL Denali. No tail wagging the dog or the boat pushing the truck at all, solid as a rock with the Duramax. I felt a slight push from the boat with the Yukon XL on certain occasions. That's why I was asking about the Tahoe.

I had the 5.3L in an older Suburban before upgrading to the 6.2L. You will love the 6.2 after driving the 5.3. The 5.3 is a great little motor but the 6.2L kicks alot of arse. I actually got much better fuel economy with the 6.2 versus the 5.3 and the 6.2 had over 100 more HP. Can't argue with that!!

Won't work... we need an SUV (three kids and a dog), and getting a Duramax in a Sub is like finding a willing third for a weekend romp.

Here ya go, Scott. I thought there used to be another outfit in Colorado that built Duramax Suburbans as well.
