I'm reading the PS 190 history right now. The range of those graphics is 77--80 I think. 77 had silver trim on the plexi windshield; 78 and 79 had black. 4 stars on the Deck in 79 (previously 3).

I'm changing my guess to 1979 or 1980.

That article may be off a year on the black trim. I've seen a handful of 78's with the silver trim just looking around.

I suppose they used up whatever silver windshields in the early production of the 78 model year? Didn't seem to have too many things carved in stone - especially in the early years.
