Changing Transmission oil on 85 S&S

I bought a 85 S&S at the end of last year and when i get it home this weekend i am wanting to change the transmission fluid. I was looking at it last year quickly and didnt see where the drain plug was at. I am assuming that it is at the bottom of the transmission and in a hard to reach spot. This being said what is the best way to drain it? If the best way is to pull the plug at the bottom how do you get a drip pan in there? I was thinking of getting a hand pump and pumping it out of the dip stick spot. What do you people think of this?

one last thing....what is the best transmission oil that most people are running in these?

Thanks in advance

I pump mine out of the dipstick hole. Fill it back up, run it for a few seconds and then pump it out again. Fill it up with freshy and call it good.

I use an oil change pump like jrandol. They're not very fussy, so just follow the recommendation, but the brand isn't important.

I don't believe there is a drain hole, but you can look at

www.correctcraftfan.com/reference

there is a manual for a velvet drive on there.

I did mine a couple of weeks ago and used a drill pump from NAPA. It worked well. I went to Lowe's and picked up some small OD clear rubber tubing for the inlet/outlet. I would recommend this method to change the engine oil and tranny fluid. I used Pennzoil 15/40 motor oil and Pennzoil Dexron III ATF for the trans.
