I agree with the above about the RPMs that helps usually significantly for me.

I would personally double check the impellers, just to make sure, esp, if you are having trouble with that one pump.

EDIT on my 06 x-15 I had what I would say was an air pocket once, not wanting to fill or empty, I literally pulled both hoses from the pump, check the check valves, and reconnected and everything was fine. I have zero explanation for that episode.
This weekend I ran the KGB and port at the same time until KGB was full then only ran port. I've checked the impeller in this pump since I'm having slow times with it. Green impeller in perfect condition.

I'm going to pull the pump and play with it out of the boat to see if I can see anything wrong.
