Oil Filter Mcx 350

For 20 years on an 89 Prostar and now on my X7 MCX 350 I have used "Mastercraft" Oil Filters - Black with Mastercraft Logo/box etc.
I have just been to my UK Mastercraft dealer and bought a new one for the MCX. Instead of the black Mastercraft filter I have been supplied with a yellow. "PENZOIL PZ-52"
When I questioned wether or not this is the recommended Mastercraft filter, I was told that Mastercraft now only supply the PENZOIL filter.
Can anyone confirm that this is actually the case and the PENZOIL is the right filter as recommended by Mastercraft?

Mikeg205. Thanks for the answer but it didn't really answer the question. Have Mastercraft stopped selling "their own" filters?
Are Mastercraft selling the Pennzoil?

I just want to know if I am being sold non-dealer parts by a dealer?

A Penzoil oil flilter was on my 06 / X-1 when I purchased it new. I use an M1-302 Mobil1 oil filter on my MCX engine.

Mastercraft filters are the same as other filters, other than the logo. This is the same as Mercruiser filters or any other private-label filters. Since it's not replaced extremely often, it doesn't make a huge difference in cost, but the comparison is a good resource for finding a GOOD replacement when the "preferred" one isn't available.

They probably stopped because they weren't selling enough to be worthwhile.
