How much do you wanna spend? My buddy just talked to mc skins.. There are a few reasons I wont get into with not choosing viper, main reason being the wait time is horrendous and they are VERY proud of their skins... $$$

I know a few folks personally who have used viper including myself who had ZERO issues. We all had ours done in winter though which may have helped. I actually got my skins a week earlier than anticipated. Jim is not the quickest on email replies but if you call hes all over returning a message within a few hours. The worst that happened to me was they forgot to send welting which they overnighted after the fact to recover the mistake. Nick on here had zero issues either. My price was not bad at all and was actually lower than others I had quote.

Examples of their work shows high quality. To be clear on the process for skins, do you have to send them the old ones? Do you need an experienced shop to do the install right to prevent bunching and make them look right? How did they come out compared to viper doing the complete job?

I did mine myself but had a compressor etc and a lot of patience. Turned out great imho.

I had local prices of around 3k and 4200 install I believe. Viper came in at 1900 but ended up at around 2300 or 2400 after upgraded material, bow filler, bow filler cushion, etc

Here is the thread. Some useful info on install. Also do a search. Alot of people have done their own. It did however prob take me 40-80 hours between tear down, cleaning, upholstery, and reinstall

Heres the one I did myself (install)

I have a question and it's just a general one: why are so many people replacing interior material on much newer boats than say my 94? Did MC go to a lesser grade marine vinyl - are people just wanting an upgrade to newer custom designs - purchased the boat used from a PO who did not take the best care of it; again just curious because I see a lot of "skins" threads and I'm still on my same 94 interior and it's in excellent condition. Granted, we mostly just ski with the boat and have a party barge for spending the day on the lake.

Skins

I have wondered the same thing Bret. I have a 94 as well and all the skins are original. Starting to see cracks on the rear seat on the seam where everyone gets in off the teak platform.
