Updates

I have been posting in the Facebook MC page, but thought I would get some updates to guys that aren't on Facebook.

I scrapped the wet sanding and went to 3m super duty rubbing compound on a wool pad and all the shine and flake came to life again. Moved to 3m finesse it 2 on an orange pad and working in a small spot, the results were horrid. It left a white haze and dulled the surface pretty bad, a huge let down after all the work done. Switched back to the wool pad and finesse or the same spot and immediately the shine was back. Thank god.

Have a couple more spots to hit again with rubbing compound and finesse again, but I am overall satisfied with the results. Vinyls will get put on this weekend then on to polish and wax. May have to cut out early Friday as temps are to be almost 60 degrees here in Iowa. Then back down to the 30s.

Teak was also worked on over the weekend. I originally thought I may have to scrap the platform as the previous owner did not take care of it one bit. It was weak and in rough shape. A few hours of sanding, new hardware and three coats of golden teak oil brought it back to life. It's a little darker than I wanted, but a huge improvement from what it once was
