Yes like that'sMRMC said they are surface mount. I just drilled a big enough hole for the wire, (make it big enough to use a fish tape or you could use a old metal hanger to fish the wires.)

Then I drilled and tapped the mounting holes. Grounded them using one of the mounting screws for a cleaner look.

They are nice and put out more light than I thought they would, I would recommend them if you do much trailering at night, I back up a 90 degree turn along a fence. They made it where I can see the fence!

Now we just wait for summer...

Question on painting the leaf springs, did you guys take them all the way apart to paint or did you just leave them in place and paint them.
