I just want to know how well it will surf! We are not pro level wakeboarder's in my family. Kids and I ride a few runs on the wakeboard daughter skis and kneeboards some. But everyone surfs! I am hoping with enough wt it will surf well. If not I will get a nice 06-07 X2 like I had.

Well - I stopped by Midwest Mastercraft yesterday hoping to see the NXT, but sounds like it was shipped off to another boat show before it heads back to the Mastercraft Factory...

I talked to Corey & the owner Andy, and saw some other photos of it.....

from what I could tell:

- pickle fork area - is pushed to the maximum, very little space behind seat backs to edge of boat.
- Dash area - dealers not even sure what it will consist of.... I heard color/analog/etc... who knows... again even Midwest Mastercraft didn't even know about it, and well they had the boat at their show....
- rear wrap around seating area: similar to the bow, they used ever inch to get the widest seating area with a thin side wall
- tower: love it or hate it, they're saving some $$ there. Apparently it shipped with the tower folded forward, but then it folded to the rear? light/speaker connections run up the rear connection to tower / tower appears pretty standard for aftermarket accessories, has speaker mounts, but pretty standard 2" diameter.

- Color combo - apparently only 2 color options for the hull / and 2 options for the inside. Keeping it quicker down the line

- Delivery Date - this summer / but not sure when people can "order" them

- starting at 50k / if we go back to 2006 / the big push was the newly branded - same hull - 2006 X1 - starting at $40k

My question was the Surf 2 System and well if it would be an option on it. Doesn't sound like it will, and well makes sense, they want to you buy into the X2 w/gen 2 on it.

The used market, and well X2 market I think will be hit pretty hard with this. I'm out shopping for a 50k X15/X30 right now, I'm obviously interested in this, but like anything new I'm unsure. And with a "new" hull, who knows how it will ride.

But - you have to give MC credit for getting us all talking, getting us all wondering what it'll do/look like/act like. It sounds like even at the show, they had it covered up and the other dealers will still wondering what was under the big tarp. They've done pretty well with keeping it hush hush.

Is it the Boxster of the Porsche family... for sure - but it's still a Porsche.

For now, we all wait and wonder...
