Is the device strong enough to pull the boat out of the water without the winch? I lube on a lake but have to load and unload my trailer every time I go out because I don't have a dock. My house is a quarter is a mile away. Can I load my boat using the ramp n clamp and trailer to my house without hooking up the winch?

Order #26...Now the work begins since I have to fabricate and weld a winch post. Want to eliminate the bar setup for my Tristar 190. Found PDF for boat buddy retrofit winch post dimensions on Team Talk.

Yes, the Ramp-N-Clamp is definitely strong enough to pull any boat up to 6500 lbs up a ramp without the winch strap. That is exactly what it was designed and tested for.

The reason the winch strap is needed for towing is to eliminate wear to the bow eye from the boat "bucking" up and down on the trailer. If your boat is fitted correctly to the trailer and it tows very stable you will be fine for the quarter mile.

Thanks,
RNC

OK, so do you need to cinch the boat down with the strap and then unlatch the RNC to prevent wear on the bow eye?
