This thread cracks me up..... Bottom line as others have posted is the options and condition. Prices can vary a lot by just the engine option alone.

NADA is a bunch of crap for values of boats and specially MC's. I just shake my head at dealers that sit there and say NADA is crap when discussing pricing of boat on their lot but turn around and open up the NADA book when you ask about trade-in value becuase the prices are so low.

That's something you see quite often, isn't it?

Well lets look at this in a different fashion then... I have the original MC documents as well as the NADA values...
Yes, I bought that boat pictured.... I think I did pretty good.

2008 X45 SS base price $87260
Add $16280 in options (bimini, cover, speakers, metalflake etc.etc.)
+ $6850 for tandem MC trailer
Total MasterCraft invoice new... $110,390

Nada says with LY6 add $3795 to base. That puts trade and retail prices as follows:

Avg Trade-In: $43,645
Avg Retail: $57925
High Retail: $64695

I figure that here in Texas that boat would retail at $52-$54,000 all day long

I missed this thread until now, but I feel the same way. There are so many variables with boats that NADA is nothing but a starting point on a road to nowhere.

I've heard you say this a few times before, and I'll agree with you every time.

I talked to the popyachts guy briefly about the one X45 they had... seemed like a pretty rough boat, interior was disgusting, engine compartment was worse, had a 350 engine and no trailer.

Boat trader had one of them listed... pictures showed how rough it was.
