Where would I find the part that shoots the water up into the speedo? And do I just drill a hole and silicone it? I hate drilling holes in a boat nevermind a mastercraft.

All it takes is a pick up mounted on the transom and a small hole drilled for the plastic tubing . Run the tube from the pick up to the speedo and wire it for power so it lights up and your done . walmart even sells the pick ups but I would spend a little more and get one from overtons or west marine

How does this Pitot compare to the one sold by Skidim?

Before I buy it just a couple more questions. How dose it mount to the back of my boat, and what should I do after I drill the hole and put the tube out? Thanks for all the info guys really helpfully here on this forum.

You can bolt or screw them in place. Use some 3M 5200 to seal the holes.

I have changed over to the newer design. Nothing to write home about but theoretically, they should (and do to some degree) eliminate sticks and leaves that can clog the OEM pitot. I don't regret buying but I still carry a paper clip and a roto tool on my keychain. However since I installed PP, it's almost a moot point with GPS.

I have bought parts from Discount Inboard Marine (www.skidim.com). A great bunch in which to do business. Install a pitot tube on the outside and install the equalizer tube on the inside. Attach the two together with tubing, seal it off with silicone where it goes through the hull.

I cannot recommend the 5200. Takes way too long to cure and is there to stay. Silicone works well for me. Each to their own... $0.02

Done deal.

Why do you want three speedos? I'd be hesitant to add a third speedo if it meant altering the engine cover with a hole....

That would be my question as well. What do you need a third speedometer for? If you're driving and paying that close attention to speed, you should be looking forward and watching the skier in your mirror. You could add an outboard mirror more easily than another speedo! If you are more interested in watching than navigating, let someone else drive!

I just thought for the people who sit in the back can see how fast we are going so I don't have to answer them 15 times, how fast we going how fast we going.
