2012 Hyperlite Tribute 142 w/ system bindings

I have a Hyperlite Tribute 142 w/ system bindings size L/XL for $150 shipped. The board is in like new condition. I think I only used it twice. I rode the bindings for one season but they still work as new. It's a great board. The reason I only rode this one twice is it was a warranty replacement for a 2011 Tribute I had that started to delam slightly at the end of the season. During the off season I bought a Marek nova core and have been riding that.

Would this be a decent starter board for an old guy wanting to learn how to wakeboard or is it not forgiving enough?

It is a very forgiving board. If you are a beginner then you can use the center fins. Intermediate and advance riders typically take it out as the molded in side fins and channels hold really well once you understand edging. Bindings are just bindings. Boots are not included. I'm still using the 2012 boots with the 2013 system bindings. Love them.
