82 stars and stripes

I am thinking about buying an 82 ss. The engine is seized so I was wondering if the boat got swamped and the engine is shot if I need a reverse rotation and how much that would run me. Would like to know for worst case scenario. And also if it has wood stingers. And any other things to look for in this boat. Your knowledge would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Putting a tower on this boat should be a sin. Mostly what I'm worried about is if I can't get the motor running what a new one would cost and if there are wood runners I need to worry about being rotted. Hull is good and not worried about upholstery. 900 bucks is really tempting.

I have a 1981 SxS, same color scheme with wood stringers. boat is solid throughout. Look at the stringers where the engine mounts are. Lose the tower if you buy it. Engine should be a concern but should not a reason not to buy it. Look for a short block or a used drop in replacement. they are out there. Just my 2c.

Seems like a fair price if the stringers are solid. Tower is hideous maybe you can sell it and put the funds towards a new short block . Heck Im thinking the trailer is worth that price to someone in need of one

yep, $900. and part it out. That boat will have wood stringers. that trailer looks like it has been owner engineered back and front. You could make some $$ off the parts tho...
