07 x45 SS 6.0 Crusader cooling issue

Thanks in advance. Boat holds 160 on a 170 t-stat and wakeboards and surfs 3-4 hours on start ups temp moves to 175-180 and right back to 160. When I went to the marina for gas after a 20 ride hit the no wake zone idle in holds on 160. After filling when leaving in the no wakezone the temp rises and continues to rise to 210 I turn boat off get towed out of the no wake zone and start up and run the boat to up to speed and the temp comes right down to 160. I put a new T-stat in last week thought I had the problem fixed until the marina. Any experience like this.

Raw water impeller or partial blockage in the line to the heat exchanger check strainers etc, also check joins in hose to make sure it can't suck air in somewhere on the suction side, when boat is running at a decent speed the water is forced through the scupper and the engine is not so reliant on the raw water impeller to get a cold water supply
