Mastercraft Trailer Lock

I just picked up my first MC today. I just parked it and realized a normal paddle lock won't work. What type of lock do I need to get? Any recommendations?

Home Depot or Lowes will have locks. I use a ball lock that has a u shape over the top

I use the same as above for the trailer and our snowmobile trailer. They work great. I think I spent ~$40.

Congrats on your new boat!

If you really want to lock it - get a wheel lock - too easy to crab the trailer tongue if someone really wants it... a wheel lock makes it just more of a pain to steal.

A couple of ratchet straps and a pre rigged modified ball mount and about 15 seconds is all it takes. Wheel locks with locking lugs is the safest when storing your trailer in questionable places imo

I wouldn't have thought of that. The hazard of thinking like a basically honest guy.

My buddies 2 snowmobiles were stolen that way. This last November actually. They found his trailer attached to a stolen Ford a coupe towns over. Of course, no sleds. Good thing he had insurance. They still haven't been found.

First photo is fuzzy gas station surveillance photo of the stolen truck and trailer. The next one is him picking up his trailer from the cops.
