Reinforcing ski lockers for 750lb bags?

Heard that the plastic dividers between the rear lockers and engine will need to be reinforced to use the fly high 750 lb bags in the rear lockers on my 2001 205V. Read some posts on this but they weren't very clear as to what needs to be done. Would in interested in a better explaination and if possible, a pic or two so i get it right. What i deduced from the other posts it the small aluminum L bracket that the sidewall bolts to need to be extended across the bottom ( pick up 2 1/2 ft of alum 2" L channel and bolt across the bottom to replace and extend the existing mounting point). Is this what needs to be done? Are there other reinforcements needed?

Thanks!
Ross

There are a few different ways to do it. Some people use L brackets, some just use thicker polyboard. I use a couple of steel rods and mounted them to outlet covers. I followed p-hat's guide on wakeboarder.com. I think you have to be logged in to see the pictures.

They need to be reinforced on the newer V-drive boats too...

I let a friend of mine weld a cross of two rectangular aluminium profiles 20mm x 30mm, so i basically have two diagonal reinforcements welded together that run from corner to corner and corner to corner, painted them black and screwed them onto the engine side of the plastic dividers. Now the only thing in doubt are the small u-brackets in the lower corners that the divider sits in, maybe I'll change that for one full u-profile from front to back. Sorry no photos yet, first real test will be today.

I have a 2000 205v and zero issue with 750 bags and stock dividers.
