Sundeck on a 1996 Prostar

[Sierra Tango II]

I was checking out this boat and noticed the back seat and how it had the ability to be raised to extend the back of the pad making more of a sunpad. Has anybody ever seen anything like this? If so is it possible on a 98 Prostar? I bought my boat in the fall, right before I put it in heated storage for the winter and unfortunatley I cant get at it to see if mine has this capability or not.

Standard equipment on mine. I raise it everytime I cover the boat, gives the cover more support incase of rain puddles.

Yea standard on my 209. At the 209 width it makes for a NICE pad too. very deep and wide.

You can do this on your 1998 too. Mine is a 98 and I have pulled up the bottom portion and put it on top for a sundeck many times. It is designed to do it!

There are two metal clips on the bottom of the seat and on the side of the boat at the bottom. This was for a set of bungie style cords to keep the 'sunpad' in place. Mine are missing and I do not use them. With that said never run your boat or tailer the boat with the seat in the sunpad position as it will blow out!

Makes for a nice snack and beverage table while setting on the teak at the sandbar!

I love it. Makes it even harder to wait forspring. My list of things to do just increased by a new stereo with remote mounted in the back so that I dont have to get up to change it.

I put the rear seat up to form a sundeck on my PS 209 a ton last summer but had one issue: When people get back on the boat from the water and are standing on it, it bows pretty bad in the middle and I am afraid of it coming off the bracket. Anyone else had this issue? I was thinking of putting some braces underneith to give it a bit more support.

The previous owner of my 96 added aluminum U channel to the bottom of the seat. You can dance on top of it without worries of it bowing/breaking!
