Vintage Old School Wakesurfing
So I was talking with one of my good friends the other day about getting him out for some wakesurfing this summer and he proceeds to tell me that wakesurfing has been around forever and that his dad was wakesurfing on Lake Wylie 40+ years ago. I balked at that opinion of course, but today I get a text message with this picture from 1971 attached. I was blown away. Not sure what type of boat he's behind but it looks like an I/O (yikes), but he's certainly getting it done. Gotta love the old school waistline PFD as well! Just really cool to see folks years ago originating some of the cool sports we get to enjoy today!
