Cup holder install

My '99 205v is limited on cup holders. It doesn't have wrap around seating, and only has 5 cup holders: one next to the drivers seat, two in the bow, and two next to the observer seat under the windshield. None near the stern. However, I've noticed that the upholstery that is flush with the sun pad has 4 cup holder sized holes, 2 on each side of the ski pylon, cut into the fiberglass underneath, but no cup holders. It looks like it was just upholstered with foam and skins right over it. I don't know if the factory did that, or it was re-upholstered by the PO. Either way, I'd like to install some in those holes. I think two would suffice. Not sure if we really need all 4. Has anyone done this or something similar? I bought some basic cup holders from Amazon, but before I just start cutting into the upholstery and drilling/glueing them in, I thought I'd see what you guys recommend.
