Who's up for some Wake N Flake?

[Wake the World]

For the past 5 years a group of us wakeboard and snowboard on the same day to raise money for Wake the World. This year it is on March 2nd. Last year 83 of us did it. Hopefully we will top 100 this year. Anyone else do something similar?

I think we are going. Girly has a family cabin out that way. Its in Stokesdale, NC if I'm correct.

Tennessee will be Performance Watersports in Kingsport, TN. I believe they are going to be on Fort Patrick Henry Lake.

Why kind of water temps are we talking? Like dry suit temps? I'm thinking it might make for a cool weekend vacation if I don't have to buy a dry suit or wetsuit.. But being that early in the year it's going to be cold I'm sure!

Think a 3/2mm shorty wetsuit would be sufficient for early March riding? If so I'm in. Heck, I'm probably in either way. This may be the only opportunity I get for snowboarding this year, since I've got a 5 week old son, and my wife might divorce me if I go to CO without them!

WOW - water temps here in DFW are 50 at best March 1st of any year!

I WON'T be in a shorty lol. I took a dip in first week of march in raleigh last year and it was COLD. I was riding no suit by end of march (not fun) but think the water was hovering at 59-60 on a semi heated lake with 75-80 air temp. Mountains should be substantially colder. My girl said "sure" we can go. I'm sure when its cold she'll start whimpering.

Our lake temp in raleigh is at 44.5 right now and I can't see it being higher than that then.

Well, I'm not going to dip them bare! LOL! They'll be covered by the wetsuit shorts. What thickness wetsuit would be recommended for 50 degree water temps?
