2008 X45 Gel Coat Repair

So I'm trying to repair the gel coat on my 2008 X45 but I am curious as to what color I actually need. What's the difference between White CCP and White VAL and which one do I need??Thanks!

CCP is Cooks gel and VAL is Valspar. They are supposed to be the same but since they are different manufacturers there is some tinting difference. Get your HIN and call MC. They can look it up and tell you which one was used on your boat.

Called them up and it only said white. A gel coat guy told me that he was pretty sure it was Valspar tho. We shall see! Thanks!

Did you give them your HIN from your hull? If you give them the complete HIN, they should be able to tell you exactly what gel it is. If nothing else, they should be able to give you the color you need and you can get some color matched from Spectrum. Usually MC has a little more unique names than just white. Perhaps you talked with a guy that wasn't exactly sure of what he was telling you. Mine is a 94 and I was able to find out what mine was. Mastique is correct though about the gelcoat manufacturers as well. I have worked with both and white from one manufacturer may be slightly or totally off from another manufacturers white.
