87 prostar 190 resto
I picked this prostar up from a guy on a local lake here in greenville sc.its a one owner boat but had been very neglected. it sat on the water at his dock since 2005 and was covered with algae and everything else imaginable as well as some serious dock rash.the motor was trashed with sand on two cylinders and locked up to say the least. this is very unfortunate since the hour meter only showed 348 hours.I finally got the hull cleaned up and the stripes repainted with imron.then sanded and buffed the rest.I dropped in a new motor and had to clean up some wiring. I took it to the lake last week and it runs great! Of course I had to install an acme 541 prop because I love how they perform.so with my part being done I took a four hour trip yesterday and left the boat at viper customs in Tennessee to let Jim put his touches on a total interior overhaul..I can't wait to get it back on the water!!!

thanks for workin to save her..keep up the great work! Can't wait to see interior.
Seized up with sand? What do you think happened....sucked up sand near beach and overheated? What kind of masking is that? Is it pressure sensitive or heat sensitive once you decide which part to remove?

I'm thinking the sand is from the bottom of the lake when they let the water level off for owners to do dock work.he never removed the boat from the water so the intake fitting was on the bottom of the lake possibly. I masked the rub rail with standard 3/4 inch 3m tape and that is plastic sheeting from Lowes.the white paper is standard paint masking paper on a roll.the motor also had a cracked block at cylinder 7 and two freeze plugs were out.luckily I already had a motor out of a supra ts6m with 500 hours on it so all I had to do was change over the marinization parts from PCM to indmar off of the original motor.I then put new belts hoses and all new ignition and tune up parts as well as new seal and impeller on the rwp.the tranny had a front seal leak which I replaced also.
