X Star 2000 Bilge Won't Run

I dropped the boat in this week and noticed the bilge won't run. The light on the button on the dash lights up but it's not pumping and isn't showing any signs of life. Any guesses what the issue is?

Send me an email for a photo of the pump. I can't tell what kind it is. It is yellow with a black top.

The label is pretty grimy but I could make out "Johnson Pump" on the side of it.

I just ordered this for my 2002 prostar 197.
The float switch was bad.

The pump is a Johnson/ mayfair pump. You can just buy the cartridge motor rather than an entire new housing in order to save some cash and mounting issues. Can't recall if mine was 500gph from factory or 750, but I would go 750gph for sure. Most retailers stock the cartridge motor unit. Also possibly just spin the impellar by hand. My ballast pump(same style) wasnt working last year at the beginning. The impellar was just stuck. Spun it by hand and its worked like charm for sure since. Just a heads up. If you do add the new pump and u want to check it. Don't run it for long out of the housing with no water it will burn out quick.

Thanks swatguy, I've got the dual setup as well for the bilge and the ballast. How do you access the cartridge? I noticed the arrows and "lock" and "unlock" on the top but it doesn't want to budge. I could have applied more pressure but I wasn't sure if I was doing something incorrectly and didn't want to break it.

Bilge pumps are cheap, just get a new one. Amazon is your friend...
