Wake world build pictures thread
There's a thread on Wakeworld on the build pictures between MC and another manufacturer. (it's buried in a thread about the X30). I normally hate that board, but I would go over there and check it out. If you own a Mastercraft you'll be glad you own a Mastercraft afterwards. I was amazed at the difference (a lot of stuff they didn't cover too).

Interesting thread...great find. After spending decades in boats I am a firm believer of over built boats. Maybe people keep their brand-x ski boats much longer or they last forever but my searches on ebay and the web for vintage ski boats..usually yield many more MC's than anything else. Wooden Chriscraft's don't count.
I'd love to read what east tx would say about the thread...since he let the cat out of the bag about his gorgeous red boat... ![]()

I never had a problem with Mastercraft's template for building boats but their attention to detail was sometimes not up to par from boat to boat. For example, there were a few issues with our X25 that "fell through the cracks" and had to be corrected by the dealer. In a perfect world, these issues would be caught before the boat ever left TN and the dealer wouldn't have to get involved.
For example, when our boat was built there was an anomaly in the swim platform's gelcoat which made the color look like it was tye-dyed rather than solid blue. The dealer recognized it when prepping the boat and a new platform was built and shipped to the dealer immediately. The problem is it should have never left the factory in this state. Speaking with a factory-based rep at the boat show this year it sounds like they have totally revamped their QA process (and in some cases personnel) over the last year to insure things like this do not happen anymore. Simply said, he said they will no longer ship a boat to the dealer until five people have independently signed off on it. They also put in a program which makes the suppliers responsible for any issues that are caused by their product and are given extremely short windows to remediate the problems (most times 24 hours). He also talked about the new off-shore testing that gets done with each boat where they are measuring the force inflicted on the hull when tackling rough water. Most boats will only ever encounter impact of 1-2 G's over their lifetime but MC is designing their boats to withstand impacts of 5+ G's. I am looking forward to seeing the outcome of all of this as the 2012's start to find their way into customers hands... |

Here you go
http://www.wakeworld.com/forum/showthread.php?t=791945 If all the guys on WW that drank the BU Koolaid would take a tour of the MC factory they just might change their opinions. 'BU was the "official boat of WW" before but now it's TIGE. I wonder how that came about? ;-) Last edited by Jerseydave; 02-27-2012 at 07:55 PM. |

I read that entire thread. I am amazed at how ant-MC they are over there. I believe Nick911 can chime in and tell us more personally about how they attack MC owners that like our boats!
