Tried 'footin for the first time...

'02 X9, set on 36 mph, sittin on a kneeboard.

Here is me and my buddy's first attempts. Suggestions are wanted!

I am no expert but have paid my dues to learn how to barefoot...

I started back in the 90's the same way you are trying today!

I watch a LOT of videos uploaded to youtube, do a search for barefooting and also barefoot skiing. Then sort them for recent uploads. You can see some folks skiing with really good form, and some who don't ( =

have your driver only go 20 until you get out of the wash and into the curl. Get your feet in front and slowly, gently relax your ankles and let your feet glide along the water while you are sitting on the kneeboard .. this is the 3 point stance ... then have your driver accelerate to 36 .. that will keep you in a good position

dont worry about the faceplant ... it only hurts for 5 minutes!

JLeuck, back toehold with shoe skis? Never saw that before, looks pretty risky!

Ride the kneeboard really slow (15-18) until you get outside of the wake, then nod to your driver to go quickly up to 36-38. Set your feet gently down before top speed is reach and slowly transfer your weight onto your feet until the board goes byebye. Make sure the water is really smooth, 7am runs are the best!

Naw... I feel safer learning these front and back toe holds at shoe ski speeds than I would at footin speeds. That's the beauty of the KSO trainers! They really aren't that much wider than the foot but allow you to do so much with the normal equipment we use. They will actually slip off you foot pretty easy during a toe hold so some fellas will deep up with just one shoe on and use their bare foot for the toe holds... Kinda awkward if you ask me but I haven't really tried it that way. Suppose it would work just fine once you got used to skiing with one shoe and one bare foot!

Ditto....and I would go with Miller Lite!
