1990 Prostar 190 Stereo Cover Replacement

I sat on the the flip-up cover for my stereo and broke it. Can't find a replacement.

It's located right under the mirror on a flat section that only about 2 3/4" high.
All the waterproof radio covers that are for sale are really big.

Does anyone know where to get a replacement cover, or have any suggestions on somewhere else to mount a stereo in a 1990 Prostar 190?

I searched for this a while back and never found one. I don't think anybody makes them. I was able to fix mine (broken hinge). There are a few folks who managed to get one of the larger, more standardized, but they don't fit well. Seems like most folks just have the radio uncovered and hope for the best.

i really hated that whole setup. the mirror gets blocked and the head unit is always either getting beverages spilled on it or being used as a hand rail. i bought a waterproof enclosure for the head unit and mounted near the lower right leg of the driver seat. unless you are a large person, i don't think it will bother you. i liked having stereo controls in my right hand instead of left and not being behind somebody's back was easier too. the old mirror mount bar makes a better cd holder anyways...but now who uses cd's anymore, lol!

oh, and one more thing, to fill the old stereo hole i just made a metal plate, bent about 60 degrees, painted it black and bolted to the fiberglass. kinda hard to tell from the pic but i looked really good.

do you had a glove box? i'd get a stereo w/ a good wired remote and mount the head unit inside the glove box and put the wired remote on the dash. several models/ years have had this set up and is a clean functional look.
