Swim Platform Extension

Hi all, this is my first post as a new Mastercraft owner. I just purchased a '96 Maristar 200 VRS. So far I love the boat and this forum was really helpful in helping me make my decision.

Anyways everything about my new boat seems just perfect except the integrated swim platform is just too short. Has anyone done and extension on a 94-97 Maristar? If so any words of advice? If you have pictures please post. The previous owner said he has seen an extension done on this hull before. I would love to add a teak extension but am a little concerned about how and where I should attach it. Also would there be any other adverse effects of adding this?

I'm fairly good working with wood so I'm confident I can build a custom platform that is functional and attractive. Just not sure if I should.

Thanks in advance for your help.
