What To Power Wetsounds Pro 80's With?

How do you all power your Wetsounds Pro 80's. I bought a Cadence Amp that is 300 x 2 (at 4 ohms) but I'm having second thoughts. I sort of want to power my WETSOUNDS with a better brand name amplifier. Not sure how much difference brand name makes. Someone help me out!

I have 4 Pro80s and I have them on a Huge 4 Channel amp running Stereo and they are retarded loud and are crystal clear. You should have a big clean amp if you want to get the best use out of them.

88,
What is a huge 4 ch AMP?
MFR? RMS power? I'm considering options as well for driving 2 80's and 2 60's. Of course
WetSounds recommends their SYN2 and I have heard that their 'stuff' is good. Connect 2 Left and 2 Right in parallel to yeild a 2 ohm load to each channel of the amp and then you get 175W to each pair. Doesn't sound like the best option but that is what they recommended...

My friend has (1) 485 and a pair of 80's and he had a JL 6ch bridged on them just to hear them play and it sounded .....good but not what you expect. He had a 850.2 Kicker and hooked it up and it was night and day difference. The more power the better. I got a pair of NVS Entity's and I just got the new 750/1 MHD JL amp for them. I was prepared to only use 1 of the NVS's on the 750 but 2 look better lol. My advice... JL MHD, Kicker 850.2, Alpine PDX4.150 plus the Alpine's and the JL's are stackable and the JL has a seperate level control so you can control the 80's as you desire.

which Cadence amp did you get? I've got the ZRS2002 and my pro80's ROCK! I've even managed to submerge it twice already due to stupidity and the amp is still kicking strong. Cadence told me even if I got it wet and it broke they'd still cover it under warranty. This is one of the brand names that Wet Sounds suggested and I called Cadence directly to find the right amp for the speakers and couldn't be happier with my decision.

I got the Cadence TXA-3004. The specs say it supplies 300 watts x 2 (at 4 ohms) which would be more than enough but I just worry that the wattage of these amps are grossly overrated. I have always had brands like Infinity and JL but if Cadence is good then im fine with it.

looks like if you bridge the amp you'll have enough power. If I were you, I'd call Cadence directly and get their opinion on that amp and possibly see if a different amp would give you better quality sound from these speakers. I connected a Lanzar Vibe 600w amp to it and wasn't even enough power to push them with any decent sound or quality.

It seems like the TXA-3004 has more power than the ZRS-2002 which doesn't make any sense to me because the ZRS is alot more expensive. I guess I am going to call Cadence.

I just got off the phone with Cadence and they said the TXA-3004 is so cheap because it has been discontinued. That makes me feel better. I just don't want to have really nice Wetsounds speakers and drive them with a crappy underpowered amplifier.
