The installation manual says it is okay to install the transponder underneath the dash fiberglass. Has anyone tried this? I was just thinking that is a quicker install than looping the cord through the back edge of the instrument panel.

I might just try it and see if I get a signal. It doesn't appear that location is essential. Anyone know the tolerance of the transceiver. Is it within inches or feet?

I'm just thinking long term cleanliness, adding it on top just makes one more thing to clean around?!?
