I had some dirty areas on mine when I bought it. I used the car wash on the soap setting and then the rinse setting. You can just use the wand like a broom to wash all the suds down the bilge. Cover your dash well though. It brought some of the nap back up in the high traffic areas too.

OxyClean does a good job on rust. If you have any rust spots, scrub them with some OxyClean a half hour or so before you go to the car wash.
