Ok got the exhaust system restoration done. As for the distributor, if I grab the rotor and turn it back and forth through the advance, I can feel a "bump" about halfway. I discovered that if I manually turn the rotor over that bump and get it to base timing, the engine will fire up immediately when I go to start it. So I am sure that the rotor is getting stuck, and that is the problem. I may get a nos distributor, but it would be interesting to fix this one if possible. Already tried some wd40, but that didn't help free it up at all.
