One of the things that I dread during the winterization process is pulling some of those stiff rubber hoses off to drain the water from the block, heater, shower, etc. More than once I have skinned my knuckles up doing this. A friend suggested pulling off these hoses after the engine is fully heated up. After the last run of the season I did this tonight and was amazed at how much easier all of the hoses came off. No blood spilled this time!
Use an anti-sieze compound on the hose connections. They never stick, hot or cold...
A warm hose is more flexible; regardless, the hoses will slip on and off with ease...
