If it is flooding over, you might not be able to quickly resolve that without getting into the carb. If you do go the carb route, and want to be sure to have it running for this season yet, pay the extra few bucks for new floats to bypass to possibility of having a rebuilt carb with a bad float. As far as time goes, putting together a clean carb only takes about 20 minutes. The longer wait is for 24 hours of soak time. Let me know if you need a hand. Good luck.
