The later generation of 1121 might have been a little different. It was a very unique looking plane. I seem to recall it being the first "business jet."

Just saw this news add about a Rockwell International Turbo Commander 690B owned by former Microsoft exec that died recently. Reminded me about the styling of the 1121. Too bad and very sad that they had to die though.
My guess is carb ice and he got too low, aimed it to let the wings take the impact on both houses. I think he did the best he could considering.
