I ran the 1479 for awhile I have both a 1285 and 1479 worked good for surfing 3200-3300 Rpm with alot of ballast at 12 mph wakeboarding not much difference the 1285 had a higher top speed by 3 mph with no weight in the boat I am running the OJ TZ X-5 right nowand I feel it's a better prop all around with serious weight and surfing and wakeboarding I know my fuel economy is up for sure
Your 1285 had a slightly higher top speed than the 1479? That seems to be at odds with what Acme indicated would happen for my boat.
