Testing out the fuel pump would not be a good idea imo, it will then be contaminated with fuel and if you just put it away the seals, rubber and plastic bits will be all dried out and when you do really need it probably won't work properly. If you can find some way of cleaning out the fuel and preserving the pump that would be ideal.

Rock auto has a great search, can find many obscure parts there.
