I did, and it worked out pretty well. If I can get the cover off today, I'll take some photos.
I grabbed a length of 3" aluminum C Channel from the local metal surplus place, cut it to length, and placed it between the seat base and the floor. Looks pretty good, IMO, although my MC OCD isn't strong.
