Both times we went we had no bug problems. Most of the time there is a nice breeze which keeps everything away.

I love Belikin. Wish we could get it here. The original is similar to Red Stripe. Belikin also makes a Lighthouse which a lighter Pilsner and Premium which is more of an amber. I much prefer just to order the original 'beer'

Some of the bigger bars carry some import beers but they are really expensive. Belikin is kind of a Belizean beer cartel. So just order a 'beer' at the bar and drink Belikin original. When in Rome...
