I've been playing with the boat today and got the fitting off at the helm end, reasonably easy, just four bolts. Problem is the rack comes off as well, which leaves a rather large piece of metal (the rack that bolts to the helm) that needs to go through the bulkhead behind the dash.

Do you guys pull the rack end through to the back of the boat, or do you pull the rudder end through the helm?
