I spent a total of $60 and that was with a spare tire cover and mounted to the trailer. If it is just for a spare, the wheel width doesn't matter as long as it's close. I did test fit the new wheel to make sure it fit over the hub, before I had the tire mounted, but it fit fine, and with plenty of clearence.

That is what I'm gonna do. I did some ebaying and found good prices on those steel wheels. They're actually hard to find! 15x6 with a 6x5.5 pattern must be a rare size. Out of curiosity, does it say on the wheel what the center bore is? I don't have the trailer in front of me but my dad is going to go up to the cabin and measure it tomorrow.
