It is my experience that draining through the hose will be even slower than using an extractor pump. If I use an extractor pump, it takes just a few minutes. I have the hose in my boat so I made up an adapter to connect the extractor to the hose. If you do some searches on this forum you will find others who use the extractor to speed up the process and others who just wait overnight...

Anyways, SKIDIM has oil drain kits at http://www.skidim.com/products.asp?dept=1054. There is one for "1996 and Up GM Oil Pans with metric thread oil drain fitting" and it says it is 12mm thread. But I would suggest contacting SKIDIM and verifying that is correct.
