I contacted The Walter Machine Company
http://www.waltergear.com/, the manufactuer of the Walter V-drive that is in my 1995 and several Mastercraft boats prior to the newer v-drives. Also known as Walters
I tried to attach the operations manual, including servicing. It's 2.0mb and the limit is 1.91mb.
But for a quick read (and what prompted me to look for this in the first place):
From Walter manual:
Walter V-drive oil: SAE 30, heavy duty non detergent motor oil.
Oil capacity: RV-26D: 2 pints. Proper level between L-H after run and sit for a minute.
* note there is no oil filter per say, but there is a "strainer" and two magnetic plugs to be serviced when changing the oil.
From the Indmar manual: Walters v-drive: SAE 30 motor oil Pennzoil, 2 pints (0.95L)
