Truth be known, this platform HAS NOT been sanded and re-oiled since May of 2003. 4 years ago! Only the occasional application of Meguiar's #16 paste wax and/or Pledge Furniture Polish. I will redo it this spring when the weather warms up!

Is it slippery? I followed the TMCNo1 progressive sanding and oiling method and wound up with an awesome looking platform (hi grade furniture quality!!) However, it was almost hazardous to stand on it was so slick.
I wound up resanding with coarse sandpaper and re-oiling.
