I'd Like to add gas lifting shocks to my motorbox. What is the stock location of these and what are the part numbers.

Gas lifting shocks were standard on Pro Stars from 1993 on. The measurements in the picture below are from a 1993 Pro Star 205.

NAPA part number 8195592. It's an exact replacement for the shocks. Attributes: Compressed Length:12.00". Extended length:20.00".

You'll need a pair of Gas Spring 90 degree; Mounting brackets, (sold in pairs) (Overton's Part Number 33613). These are the ones mounted to the floor with the nub facing inward.

You'll also need a pair of Gas Spring Flat Mounting brackets (sold in pairs) (Overton's Part Number 74273). These are the ones mounted to the inside of the motor box.

To me, this forum is about love of inboard boats. It is about the sharing of information and, on a good day, some humor. It is not about post count, brand of boat, or any other superfluous labels that lend themselves to a false sense of superiority. Please, respect one another, try to pass on accurate information, and keep your eye on the ball.
