2006 would not have been Stargazer as standard, it is an easy upgrade. The wire near the ski pylon is for a jump or slalom switch.

I don't think it's Silicon. Silicone is a big No No on upholstery, that's why 303 (with "no silicon" sticker, at least on the spray bottle I have) is so good.

When I fixed mine a few years ago (with a black rubber grommet), I removed the panel, epoxied into the fibreglass a stainless steel "T" nut. This solved installation issues.
